Description

Kathleen McGinnis has been a Registered Nurse since 1997 and a Certified Nurse Midwife since 2005. She has cared for women and their families as a Neonatal ICU, Labor & Delivery, and Postpartum Registered Nurse and as a Nurse Midwife across the United States. Her specialties include prenatal, intrapartum and postpartum care, lactation support, well-woman care from adolescence through post-menopause, family planning and STI screening and treatment. Her areas of interest are providing inclusive care, addressing health care disparities, patient education and advocacy. She has a particular interest in postpartum care including screening for and treatment of postpartum depression and has recently become a Certified Lactation Counselor to increase access to breastfeeding support for families in Dutchess County and the surrounding area.
